It has been announced that the Real Madrid, a world famous football (soccer) team, has succumbed to financial and religious pressures to change its crest. Investors in E.A.U have requested the removal of a little cross that adorns its crown. On March 29, this request was granted and will only apply within Islamic countries.
Real Madrid followers have already got into social media to comment the absurd and mercantile reasons given by the club administration. The same followers have joked about changing Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel di Maria names to a “less Christianize” version.
As perusal, Christians need to accommodate others demands while we do not request any modification to others symbols…for example, Arsenal F.C. could ask to modify the Arabic script on the Emirates Airlines logo:
“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you” (John 15, 18:19)
